When you’re in the market for a new stroller, you’ll be surprised at how many options are available to you. There are strollers for jogging parents, strollers that convert from seated position to lying flat; there are even strollers that carry car seats so you don’t have to transfer your little one when you get out of the car. There are strollers for every budget, too. Here’s our take on models that are among the top 3 strollers on the market for overall performance, durability and cost.
Britax™ B-Agile 3 Stroller – ($270)
Britax™ is consistently top-rated for safety, quality and engineering of their car seats and strollers. While they also make a travel system – this stroller is compatible with their car seats – we like this one because of its ease of operation. This stroller weighs just a bit over 16 pounds, making is super portable and easy to set up, collapse, and navigate. The slim design is also great for shopping aisles, sidewalks or other areas. However, the two best features are the front double-wheel in the middle that swivels and the extra large sun shade. As for the double-wheel that swivels, it may sound like a minor feature, but if you’ve ever tried to push a shopping cart with a fixed wheel that’s either wobbling or stuck on an object in its path, you understand how the swivel action greatly improves overall maneuverability. As for the extra large canopy – we defy you to find a position where it doesn’t keep the sun, rain, wind or other elements off of your baby. This one’s an awesome stroller.
Graco Car Seat/Stroller Combo – ($220)
Graco™ calls it a travel system. You purchase a stroller with a multi-position seat and the frame is also compatible with an accompanying infant car seat. These systems are great because they “grow” with your child, and you’ll be surprised how quickly you’ll be transitioning from an infant car seat to a conventional stroller. The “quick-connect” system takes just minutes to set up and easy enough for one person. While there are several models with the travel-system and quick connect feature, opt for one with larger tires – they are much better on uneven terrain which means a more comfortable ride for your little one.
Baby Trend™ Expedition Stroller – ($95-$99)
Just to prove that you don’t have to break the bank to get a great stroller, here’s the Baby Trend™ Expedition FX Jogger. You don’t have to be a runner to enjoy all of the features of this stroller, but if you are, you’ll appreciate it even more. The front wheel can swivel freely or be locked, depending on your needs, and there’s a great canopy with a peek-a-boo window so you can see at a glance how your passenger is doing. Plus, there are spacious areas both beneath the stroller (think extra blankets and the diaper bag) and a large tray on the handlebar with two cup holders and a closed compartment for keys, phone or other items. This one is also compatible if you need to attach an infant carrier.
For the price, features and performance, these are among the top 3 strollers on the market today.
